What a teaser does
A teaser is a short vertical clip that gets someone to look at the listing. It picks the four or five shots most likely to make a person stop scrolling: the front of the house, the main living space, the kitchen, the yard and the best view. Then it points to where they can see the rest.
Cut from the same shoot
Most listing footage is shot wide, in 16:9. We reframe it to 9:16 and choose shots where the subject sits near the center of the frame, so nothing important falls off the edges. If your shooter filmed some clips vertically on purpose, those go in first. If you know ahead of the shoot that you want teasers, ask for a few vertical passes of the main rooms; they look better than a crop.
On-screen text
Many people watch with the sound off, so a few words of text carry the message: "Just listed", "Open house Saturday", the neighborhood or the number of bedrooms. We keep text large and inside the safe area, away from the buttons and captions the apps lay over the picture.
On-screen copy sticks to the property: its rooms, features and location. We leave out phrases about who the home suits, which fair housing advertising guidance asks agents to avoid.
A teaser set
A listing often needs more than one clip over its life. Common sets are:
- Coming soon: the exterior and one interior shot, no address yet
- Just listed: the strongest five shots and the address
- Open house: date and time on screen, with the shots that make the case for a visit
- Price change or back on the market: a new title over the same footage
Order the set with the tour, and all of it comes out of one edit.
| Platform | Shape | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reels | 9:16 | Cover frame picked from the clip |
| TikTok | 9:16 | Text kept clear of the right-hand buttons |
| YouTube Shorts | 9:16 | Can point to the full tour on your channel |
| Facebook and Instagram feed | 4:5 | The social cut usually fits here better |
Platform limits on length and format change from time to time, so we check the current ones at delivery.
Questions
Do you post the teasers?
No. You get ready-to-post files and suggested caption text. Your accounts stay in your hands.
Can the music be added in the app?
Yes. We can deliver a version with licensed music and one with no music, so you can pick a sound inside the app when you post.
